Meet the Master Afra

Afra—ancient patron of the continent of Africa and sponsor of the black race, comes again with a message of unity and brotherhood for his brethren everywhere. This beloved brother of light is pledged to solve the problems of divergent peoples—local wars, discord in religion, strife between Arab and Jew, between black and white, between Christian and Moslem. We need him today as never before.

Long ago, Afra offered name and fame to God to sponsor a vast continent and a mighty people. That continent is Africa.

Afra was the first member of the black race to make his ascension. He returned to God, reuniting with the flame at the conclusion of a life of devotion and service. When he ascended, he asked to be called simply “a brother,”—or frater in Latin. And so “a frater” became the word Afra.

The continent of Africa takes its name from Afra. He is the patron of that land and also the patron of the black race. The black race, long ago, was part of what was known as the blue race and the violet race. Their skin actually had a subtle blue or violet hue. These souls lived in a spiritually advanced civilization that existed on the continent of Africa.

Africa was once a part of the continent of Lemuria—the ancient motherland, the place of culture, truth and beauty. On ancient Lemuria there was an age of freedom and enlightenment long lost to recorded history. It was a golden-age civilization with marvelous advances in science and technology.

There were, indeed, ancient golden ages in Africa, when the people came forth out of the light of the causal body of the Great Divine Director, a cosmic being who is a teacher of masters and their students. His causal body is a great blue sphere that surrounds the planet, ensouling the perfect awareness of the Father’s plan for all of life. As he did in those ancient golden ages, the Great Divine Director continues to sponsor the divine plan of the continent of Africa, even as he sponsors the divine plan for the descendants of Afra in America.

Since the time of Afra’s ascension, when he showed the way for all the brothers and sisters who would follow after him, many others have ascended from the black race.

Mother Mary is the divine complement of Archangel Raphael. She is also known as Queen of the Angels. Mother Mary is an Archeia, which means a feminine Archangel.

All sons and daughters of God have a divine spark, which is their potential to become, or realize, the Christ within. This concept is at the heart of the major religions, East and West. And it was part of Jesus’ original teachings to his disciples, many of which were either obscured by Church Fathers or destroyed.

How does one become a master and enter the heaven-world? A master is one who has attained self-mastery by using the energy of free will, coupled with the law of their oneness with God, to demonstrate mastery in time and space. Through mastery of the flow of energy in his own being as well as his environment, he reaches a certain level of attainment, bringing his soul into congruency with his own God-awareness. This mastery propels him into the reunion with God that is called the ascension in the light, the ritual of the return that was demonstrated by Jesus. Hence the term ascended master.

Ascended Masters Jesus And StGermain

The ascended masters are enlightened spiritual beings who once lived on earth just like we do.

Over the course of many lifetimes of devotion and striving, they fulfilled their mission and reason for being—their divine plan—and ascended back to their divine source, reuniting with Spirit. Though they once had physical bodies like we wear, they now dwell in the heaven world, or etheric octave, and have bodies of light.

Many ascended masters have chosen to stay connected with souls on earth to guide them. They are the true teachers of mankind, directing the spiritual evolution of all those who desire to reunite with divine consciousness, or God.

The ascended masters are part of The Great White Brotherhood.

In recent eras, few among mankind have entered the retreats and temples of the Great White Brotherhood. The retreats, once physical on the lost continents of Lemuria and Atlantis, were withdrawn to the realms of perfection, the etheric plane, reachable only by the most advanced initiates.

With the dawning of the Aquarian age, however, lightbearers were given again opportunity to enter these retreats just beyond physical awareness.  By means of soul travel, you can visit these retreats while you sleep as time and space are merely coordinates of infinity.

The chohans of the rays are the closest of the ascended masters to humanity. The offices of the chohans are divinely appointed by the cosmic hierarchy. Each one has attained self-mastery and won the ascension by serving humanity on one or more of the seven rays.

On January 1, 1986, Gautama Buddha announced that the seven chohans of the rays had been granted approval by the Lords of Karma to open,

“Universities of the Spirit in each of their etheric retreats where they might welcome not dozens or hundreds but thousands and tens of thousands of students who will diligently pursue the path of self-mastery on the seven rays systematically, mastering most especially the first and the seventh rays…”

The Seven Chohans and Their Retreats:

El Morya, the chohan of the first ray, maintains his focus of the will of God on the etheric plane concurrent with Darjeeling, India. He is the Chief of the Darjeeling Council, a council of ascended masters of the Great White Brotherhood.

Lanto is the chohan of the second ray, the yellow ray of illumination. He serves in the retreat of the Royal Teton, the main retreat of the Great White Brotherhood on the North American continent. He is concerned with the illumination of the youth of the world.

Paul the Venetian is the chohan of the third ray of divine love, the pink flame. He is the hierarch at the Château de Liberté in southern France. He sponsors the ascended master culture for this age and works with all who desire to bring that culture forth on behalf of mankind.

Serapis Bey, chohan of the fourth ray, the great disciplinarian. Serapis maintains the focus of the Ascension Temple at Luxor in Egypt. This is the place where candidates for the ascension are received, and it is considered the most difficult of these retreats to enter. Serapis Bey is the teacher of the path to the ascension.

Hilarion is the chohan of the fifth ray, the green ray of precipitation and truth. He was embodied as the apostle Paul. He maintains the Temple of Truth on the etheric plane near Crete. He works with atheists, agnostics, skeptics and others who have become disillusioned with life and with religion.

Lady Master Nada is the chohan of the sixth ray of ministration, service and peace. The flame of the sixth ray is purple, the color of violets, flecked with metallic gold and ruby. Nada’s retreat is in the Arabian Desert.

Saint Germain, the chohan of the seventh ray, holds a very important position in hierarchy in this age.  The seventh ray is freedom, mercy, transmutation and ritual.  Saint Germain is also the hierarch of the Aquarian age. The pulsations of the violet flame can be felt from his retreat over the House of Rakoczy in Transylvania and from the Cave of Symbols in the United States.

Elizabeth Clare Prophet said, “We have reached a point in our evolution, both spiritual and material, when we can no longer think of ourselves as Christian or Buddhist or Muslim or Jew. In the world of Spirit there is no division of race, religion or philosophy—there is simply oneness.”

From every spiritual tradition, the mystics, saints, sages and servants of light East and West graduated from earth’s schoolroom and took their ascension.  They are called the ascended masters.

What’s more, Saint Germain tells you that “you can call forth the talents you have developed in past ages, for these are stored as treasure in your causal body. With these you can elevate and bless and heal in the name of the Christ of Jesus and of your own I AM Presence, endowing many with your past momentums of fruitful activity.”

But, what is most amazing is Saint Germain’s assurance that “the manifestation of these gifts is not dependent upon the recall of your outer memory!”

“However,” he cautions, “it is subject to the law of karma and what you the individual son of God will do (in accord with the gifts of the threefold flame and free will) with your spiritual resources once they are made available to you.”
