A classic of true Christian mysticism…Living Flame of Love, by Saint John of the Cross, is a powerful poem spoken by a rare spirit inwardly transformed by the fire of divine love.

Here is John writing in the midst of the church saying that God desires to deify man which can only mean that he desires to make man God.  I don’t understand how he gets away with it. I really don’t.  To deify is to make into God, there’s no other definition for the word—to make God, that’s deify and that is what the Catholic Church considers to be Satanism, making of the, the self God.  So within the context of his energy and his spirit and his flame, Saint John of the Cross is accepted.

Unfortunately, the mysticism of the saints is not the everyday teaching that is pronounced in the mass and unless you are a very zealous Christian, as a Catholic, you may not discover this teaching.
